Interview
By Kiana Dancie from Komedy Kocktails |
As
a veteran in comedy and former Airman of the Air Force, Earthquake
has really come into his own! We talked about his views on the war
and it is clear that he is a solider at heart. We laughed, as he
shared with me his insight on the bunker mentality, “Basically
it’s your boys against them! You have to be ready to throw
down at anytime!! You gotta support them, even if you have on your
Sunday’s best!!” He clearly explains that the soldiers
are fighting for us. We may or may not believe in the reasons for
the war, but fight unconditionally, without question for the love
of this county!
Quake, is
a powerhouse of a comedian as his calendar is full of dates from
coast to coast. His old school tactics, still gravitate young
adults to his humor, proving he is a force to be dealt with. He
will never go away! We have seen this in his recent commentary’s
on the Bill Bellamy’s “Who’s Got Jokes!”
This is a show where he interviewed finalist in the competition.
Here he gave his opinion on their final performances and asked
questions like, “Do you think you are really going to win?
This really put the contestants on the spot. Recently, I had the
opportunity to spend some time getting to know how he thinks.

| Kiana: |
“What
is the difference in your opinion of the comedy game now vs. when
you were getting in?“ |
| Quake: |
“I
feel that there is no integrity in the new game. Some of the new comedians
are just recycling other people’s jokes. Comedy should be organic,
meaning it should be their experience. These new comedians are getting
it too quick! There used to be times were comedians spent 2 to 3 years
on the road and then got on TV. In today ‘s world they are getting
on television to fast!” |
| Kiana: |
“We
are starting to see you everywhere, what’s next for you?” |
| Quake: |
I
will be doing the “Tonight Show, A One Hour HBO Special, and
a movie called “The Promise”. |
| Kiana: |
“What
didn’t someone tell you when entering this business that you
wish you were told?” |
|
Quake: |
“I
wish I was told that Comedy was a Business! As a comic, all you seek
are the laughs! When you have to manage your career, you don’t
think about the business side!” |
| Kiana: |
“What’s
your favorite Kocktail?” |
| Quake: |
“Belvedere
& Cranberry or Martell XO!” |
